Hover or tap a word in the editor to open synonyms, rhymes, and syllable tools. Synonyms prefer the matching part of speech from local context, then meter fit and syllable count; rhymes sort by syllable count. Meter-matching options are highlighted. Dictionaries ship with the app (Open English WordNet and Wiktionary for synonyms; Misaki, CMUdict, and WikiPron for perfect rhymes). ## Where does the dictionary data come from? Syllables and rhymes use Misaki (Apache 2.0), the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary (acknowledgment requested by CMU), and WikiPron / Wiktionary pronunciations (CC-BY-SA). Synonyms use Open English WordNet (CC-BY 4.0) with additional links from Wiktionary (CC-BY-SA). ## Where are my drafts stored? Locally in your browser — no account, no cloud sync. Settings include system, light, or dark theme, higher contrast, and editor font size (S–XL). ## Does writing leave my browser? No. Syllable counts, thesaurus, and rhyme helpers run client-side. Most English words use primary pronunciations from the bundled dictionary. Ambiguous poetic words can be overridden in the full lyriic editor under Settings → Syllable overrides. ## Can I use it for song lyrics? Yes. Drafts stay local; nothing is sent to a server for counting. ## What is a 5-7-5 haiku? In English teaching contexts, a haiku is often three lines with five syllables, then seven, then five. Traditional Japanese haiku is measured in on (sound units), which is not identical to English syllables. ## Does lyriic include a haiku meter ruler? Yes. In the editor, choose the Haiku preset under meter rulers for live 5/7/5 ticks beside each line as you write. ## Is my haiku uploaded? No. Syllable checks run locally in your browser. lyriic is local-first and does not require an account. --- # Rhyme finder Browse rhymes by syllable count from a local dictionary. In the lyriic editor, hover or tap a word to open the same index beside your draft. Type a word to see rhyming candidates from the bundled index, grouped by syllables so you can keep meter in mind. Results stay on-device; there is no cloud rhyme API. The page is for browsing. It is a focused local rhyme index for drafting. For an all-in-one writing session with syllables and meter beside your lines, use the lyriic editor rather than switching tabs. ## Do rhymes work offline? Yes after the app assets load. The rhyme index ships with the site and lookups run in your browser. ## Does lyriic generate lyrics with AI? No. lyriic is a meter-focused editor with dictionary helpers — not a generative AI songwriting tool. --- # Privacy Effective July 31, 2026 lyriic is a client-only writing tool. This page explains what stays on your device and what does not leave your browser. ## What lyriic stores Drafts (poem text, settings, and syllable overrides) are saved in your browser's local storage under the key lyriic.projects.v1. Appearance preferences (theme, contrast, font size, and related flags) use lyriic.prefs.v1. There is no account and no cloud sync — data stays on this device unless you clear site data or your browser removes it. ## What we do not collect lyriic does not run analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers. Writing, syllable counts, synonym lookups, and rhyme helpers run in your browser. Poem text is not sent to a server for editing. Dictionaries ship with the app bundle and load locally. ## Hosting and network The website is served as static files (currently via Vercel). Your browser requests those assets like any other site. The app is built so editing does not require outbound API calls for its core features. Hosting providers may log standard technical request data (such as IP address and user agent) as part of delivering the site; that is outside the editor's local storage model described above. ## Sale of data We do not sell personal information.
